Biographical Practice Information

BioTouch Massage Therapy was established in the spring of 2002 as a therapeutic massage practice in Michigan City, Indiana.  The focus and mission of this practice is to provide each and every client with massage sessions that are attentive and customized to the individual needs based on information provided by the client during their intake and information obtained during the session through assessment procedures.  Client’s sessions are then tailored using a vast array of bodywork techniques to address the requirements of the client in a nurturing and holistic manner.  Whether seeking relaxation, restoration, or rejuvenation, this client focused approach ensures thorough sessions with intent and determined purpose.

 

BioTouch Massage Therapy is found within the beautiful Image House Day Spa, located in a quiet historical district of Michigan City.  Image House is tastefully decorated with Baroque frames, antique glass, container flora and rich textiles providing a unique day spa experience.  Hair, skin and nail needs can be met by our knowledgeable and skilled client care specialists providing our guests with the best personal care offered in the area.

Service List

 

Body Massage – 60 min. session

Manipulation of the soft tissues of the body utilizing a broad spectrum of bodywork modalities, specifically tailored for each client to relax the mind while achieving optimum benefits for the body.

 

Therapeutic Target Massage – 30 min. session

Utilization of specific techniques to improve previously determined troubled areas in effort to promote relief and restoration.

 

Extended Massage – 90 min. session

A longer session designed to encourage greater relaxation.  Warm compresses and massage are used to induce stress reduction, improve circulation, release tight muscles and enhance the benefits of the body’s ability to function and heal.

 

Ankle and Foot Therapy – 45 min. session

A session devoted entirely to the feet and ankles beginning with a relaxing soak in waters infused with Tea Tree oil and mineral salts.  Designed to improve range of motion in the ankles, stimulate vascular flow and rejuvenate overworked feet.

 

Heated Stone Massage – 60 min. session

A relaxing and warming session using heat radiating basalt stones placed on strategic points of the body and gently used to massage tight muscles.  This treatment will enhance relaxation of muscle tissue to facilitate increased vascular activity.

 

Pregnancy Massage – 45 min session

Massage designed to promote relaxation, soothe nerves and relieve strained back and leg muscles for the mother-to-be.  An extended care package is available to benefit mom throughout her pregnancy.

 

Aromatherapy

Enhance your session with the addition of pure essential oils combining the effective and unique power of smell and touch.

Designed with simple and wholesome ingredients these seasonal inspired treatments will nurture your skin and delight your senses.  Treatments may be combined with massage services for a truly delightful and soothing spa ritual experience.

Practice Policies

 

Appointment Requests

Sessions are by appointment only and scheduled times are to be kept in respect of other clients and the therapist.  Should a client arrive late for an appointment, that time may be deducted from their session and full price will be charged.  Any client arriving late 15 minutes or more for their session will be considered a no show/no call.

 

No Show/No Call

No show/ no call appointments will be billed via mail.  A no show/no call of an initial appointment will result in forfeiture of scheduling further sessions.

 

Cancellations

Please allow 24 hours, when possible, if the need arises to cancel.  It is understood that emergencies arise which require appointment changes.  Attempts to honor these appointment change requests will be made as scheduling allows.

 

Gift Certificates

Certificates are available and must be redeemed within 120 days of purchase.   A no call/no show of a certificate appointment will result in for feature of the certificate.

 

Behavior

Inappropriate language or behavior is cause for immediate termination of session at full charge.

 

 

Confidentiality

Respect and professionalism may be expected at all times.  Information obtained during a session is confidential.  Exchange of that information requires a signed release by the client as determined by the federal HIPPA privacy rule.

 

Payment

Cash and personal checks are accepted methods of payment.  Third party billing may be available with proper consent to release information and verification of insurance.  Should you wish to bill your insurance company; a receipt with procedures received will be made available.  A $30 fee will be charged for returned checks.

 

Client Information/Guidelines

A client intake information form must be completed and signed prior to the first session and then will be updated as required.
